Three Great Reads

[People often ask me, “What does a high school English teacher read for fun?” After wrapping up Jane Eyre with my sophomores and The Great Gatsby with my juniors, I found a way to squeeze in these three engaging books:

1) Beautiful Ruins, by Jess Walter

2) The Snow Child, by Eowyn Ivey

3) Where’d Ya Go Bernadette?  by Maria Semple

I highly recommend each book, which couldn’t be more different than the next. Oh yes, another great one is The Sandcastle Girls, by  who also wrote the ever intriguing Midwives!

Please let me know your thoughts on any of these books!
